Description
Summary:Morphological and molecular phylogenetic analyses were used to study several species of Gyroporus (Gyroporaceae, Boletales) in China. Ten phylogenetic species were recognized in the country, and six of them were described/redescribed. Gyroporus memnonius , G. porphyreus , and G. subglobosus were newly described; G. longicystidiatus and G. paramjitii have been previously described; and one ambiguous taxon was tentatively named G. cf . castaneus . A key to known species of Gyroporus in China was provided. A preliminary biogeographical analysis revealed that Gyroporus in China and Southeast/South Asia are closely related. Gyroporus longicystidiatus and G. paramjitii are geographically widespread species occurring in China and Southeast/South Asia; G . cf . castaneus occurs in China and Europe.
