Description
Summary:In this study, a biosensor was prepared with bilayer plasma polymer films coated on a quartz tuning fork (QTF) for simple, selective, and sensitive determination of L -phenylalanine. Two-step surface modification of QTFs’ prongs was performed through hexane and ethylenediamine plasma, respectively. Functionalized QTFs’ surfaces were treated with glutaraldehyde at different time intervals to activate prong surfaces for antibody immobilization. Then, anti-phenylalanine was attached to the activated prongs of QTFs. The linear range for phenylalanine was found to be from 5 to 200 μM. The sensitivity of the developed QTF-based immunosensor was obtained 0.3809 Hz/μM. Graphical Abstract
