Surface Plasmons in a Nanotube with a Finite-Thickness Wall

The frequency dependences of polarizability, absorption and scattering cross sections, and optical radiation efficiency of nanotubes of different metals and different sizes are studied. Expressions for the frequencies of longitudinal and transverse surface plasmon resonances are obtained. The relati...

Description
Summary:The frequency dependences of polarizability, absorption and scattering cross sections, and optical radiation efficiency of nanotubes of different metals and different sizes are studied. Expressions for the frequencies of longitudinal and transverse surface plasmon resonances are obtained. The relationship between the theory proposed and the plasmon hybridization model is discussed. The evolution of the polarizability maxima, as well as the absorption and scattering cross sections, upon a change in the geometric parameters and morphology of the core and the shell, is traced.
