Summary: | A mathematical model is presented of the electrochemical reduction of the main components of oxidized spent nuclear fuel for studying the performance and development of process monitoring and control systems. The main thermodynamic and kinetic characteristics of the reduction of target components to metal are described. The mathematical description is based on the equations of material-and-heat balance as well as the balance of stresses assuming that electrochemical and chemical reactions occur in the kinetic region. Requirements for the model are formulated and assumptions are made. The information structure and mathematical description of the model were developed. Computational experiments were performed on the model, showing its efficacy and the possibility of using it to develop process monitoring and control systems. |
