Description
Summary:The research topic of this project was the relationship between negative variables and the perception of vigor from the application of the Mood Profile instrument (POMS). The objective of this project was to describe the relationship between negative variables and the perception of vigor in high-performance Soccer, Skating and Mountain Biking athletes. The thematic axes of this project were the negative variables of the POMS and the vigor as the physical and mental strength that the athletes of the three sports mentioned above may present, both in pre-competition and post-competition situations. In order to carry out the analysis of the variables of hostility, tension, depression, fatigue, confusion and vigor, 57 athletes were selected of which were: twenty-three soccer players, twenty skaters and fourteen cyclists. The psychometric instrument to carry out this analysis and its description was the POMS test, (Hernández Mendo and Ramos Pollán, 1995), which evaluates six variables: depression, hostility, tension, vigor, fatigue and confusion. It is a test that yields both numerical and graphic data, which were processed by means of the statistical package Excel and Statgraphics, where the correlation and reliability were verified and the Analysis of Variance of the evaluated variables was performed.
