Description
Summary:Power swing detection and out-of-step protection scheme are pivotal to prevent the power system from blackout. Power system stability upgrades with the correct generator out-of-step relaying decision. In the beginning, the paper presents the accurate modeling of synchronous generator. The paper then introduces the proposed power swing detection and out-of-step tripping algorithm. The single machine infinite bus (SMIB) is used to implement the proposed out-of-step protection scheme in this work. The contrasting cases with the variation in fault resistance, location, and duration are considered for analysis of the proposed out-of-step protection scheme for the transmission line. The paper shows the influence of small-signal disturbance and fault resistance on out-of-step protection in the end. The proposed algorithm furnishes the adequate performance of power swing detection and out-of-step protection.
