Description
Summary:A procedure was developed for recovering cerium, thorium, and uranium from Egyptian Rosetta monazite. Cerium was separated from other rare earth elements by oxidation with 30% KMnO 4 to obtain CeO 2 . Cerium, thorium, and uranium were obtained as highly pure oxide products according to the results of SEM-EDX qualitative analysis. The degree of recovery reached 95% for Ce and 90% for Th and U.
