Summary:Açaí palm anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum chrysophilum is reported for the first time in Brazil. The etiological agent was identified by a combination of morphological and molecular approaches. Cultural morphological of the identified causal agent were consistent and resembled those described for C. chrysophilum . Pathogenicity was confirmed and Koch’s postulates fulfilled for a selected isolate from Belém, Pará, Brazil.
