Summary:Picture Fuzzy sets (PFSs) are as an extension of Intuitionistic Fuzzy sets (IFSs) which conquered the disadvantages of IFSs. The entropy of PFSs is a measure of vagueness linked to the Pythagorean fuzzy sets and in the present investigation, we constructed a new entropy measure under the PFSs as an extension of fuzzy entropy of IFSs. In contrast by the previous entropy measures, our new proposed entropy proves to be simpler and more reliable. It reflects excellent fuzzy characteristics. After that, we provide a numerical example in order to compare our proposed entropy with the previous entropy measure and thus, from the results, it has been found that our new proposed entropy measure is more reliable than the previous existing entropy measure. We also developed a multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) TOPSIS based model with calculated weights on the groundwork of new proposed entropy measure. The illustrative example shows the practical efficiency of new information measure for PFSs.
