Summary: | Van der Stede talks about how research can seek to better connect with practice and the practitioner. With an imponderable number of issues that managers face in their organizations, it is simply inconceivable that there would be a finite set of interesting questions for researchers to address that are potentially relevant for the practitioners in that chosen field. Method and theory should be irrelevant for the question of research relevance; instead, its defining characteristic is whether the research has contributed knowledge to a "problem found in practice." |
