Nonlinear Third-Order Optical Properties in Polymer Ferroelectrics Doped with Ruthenium Phthalocyaninates

The nonlinear optical properties of thin-film materials based on a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride with trifluoroethylene doped with ruthenium octabutoxy-phthalocyaninates—a polar monomer complex [(BuO) 8 PcRu](CO) ( 1 ) or nonpolar µ-carbide dimer (μ-C)[(BuO) 8 PcRu] 2 ( 2 )—have been studied. It...

Description
Summary:The nonlinear optical properties of thin-film materials based on a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride with trifluoroethylene doped with ruthenium octabutoxy-phthalocyaninates—a polar monomer complex [(BuO) 8 PcRu](CO) ( 1 ) or nonpolar µ-carbide dimer (μ-C)[(BuO) 8 PcRu] 2 ( 2 )—have been studied. It is established that the polarization of the copolymer doped with monomer complex 1 enables it with optical limitation: increase in the optical density of the sample with an increase in laser radiation intensity, which may be caused by ordering in the crystalline regions of dipoles that are initially in chaotic state. Doping of copolymer with complex 2 does not enable the composite with nonlinear optical properties.
