description Introduction: The violation of the Flight Information Region (FIR) over Indonesian airspace is one of the strategic issues related to the sovereignty of Indonesia. Methods: It requires a strategy for the alignment of the Indonesian FIR. One of the difficulties associated with the alignment process is managing the FIR, which is completely determined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) owing to safety reasons. Results and Discussion: It is necessary to examine the preparedness and strategy of the Indonesian government to convince the ICAO and the international community that Indonesia is capable of controlling, managing, and securing Indonesian FIR airspace. Conclusion: This study proposes a roadmap for this FIR alignment strategy in an effort to maintain the integrity and sovereignty of the Indonesian region.
