Effect of Particle Size Distribution on the Optical and Magneto-Optical Properties of Nanocomposites (CoFeZr)x(Al2O3)1 – x

Spectral dependences of the transverse Kerr effect (TKE) in magnetic nanocomposites (CoFeZr) x (Al 2 O 3 ) 1 – x are investigated. The TKE is modeled with allowance for size effects and the lognormal size distribution of nanocomposite grains. Spectral dependences of the TKE are modeled in an effecti...

Description
Summary:Spectral dependences of the transverse Kerr effect (TKE) in magnetic nanocomposites (CoFeZr) x (Al 2 O 3 ) 1 – x are investigated. The TKE is modeled with allowance for size effects and the lognormal size distribution of nanocomposite grains. Spectral dependences of the TKE are modeled in an effective medium using the symmetrized Maxwell–Garnett approximation. It is shown that the size and size distribution of particles affect different properties of the nanocomposites.
