Description
Summary:The uniformity of color is an important specification for evaluating the quality of commercial displays. The nonuniform phenomenon of AMOLED is complex comparing to conventional displays, e.g. LCD, and is more easily to be observed under high brightness mode and large size displays. In this paper, an effective compensation algorithm is proposed to enhance the color uniformity of displays in a variety of situations including different gray level, brightness, and IR drop effects. With applying the localized adaptive compensation table on input data, displays which seem to be nonuniform at first can be calibrated correctly. The compensation table mentioned in this paper is generated by capturing optical information of displays under certain patterns and operating conditions. The simulation results demonstrate that the color uniformity of displays have significant improvement with the proposed method.
