Summary: | The efficiencies of C3MR and Arctic Cascade cycles in Arctic and sharply continental climatic conditions are compared using entropy-statistical analysis method. It is shown that energy consumptions for LNG production decrease with a drop in ambient temperature for both technologies. However, in the studied temperature variation range from − 10 to + 10°C the Arctic Cascade cycle is more efficient than the C3MR cycle. The advantages of the Arctic Cascade technology stem from uniform loading throughout the cooling circuits and judicious use of equipment. |
