Summary:Two new layered metal-organic coordination polymers [Cd 2 (CH 3 CN) 4 (oFBPDC) 2 ]·4CH 3 CN ( 1 ) and [Cd 3 ((CH 3 ) 3 СOH) 4 (oFBPDC) 3 ]·3(CH 3 ) 3 СOH·H 2 O ( 2 ), containing an octafluorobiphenyl-4,4′-dicarboxylic acid anion (oFBPDC 2– ) are obtained and characterized by the single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. It is shown that on the long-term storage of 1 in air it transforms into another crystalline phase 1a . Solid 1a exhibits ultraviolet/blue photoluminescence caused by intraligand transitions.
