Summary: | Neutronics calculations based on the Monte Carlo statistical algorithms make it possible to obtain the most accurate distribution of neutrons in complex heterogeneous media. So, although the iteration method of generations secures a correct calculation of the neutronics characteristics in reactor systems it can lead to signifi cant errors and even unreliable results in weakly coupled systems. The specifi cs of weakly coupled systems with marked sensitivity of the calculated distributions to small perturbations, which do not change the neutronics properties of a system, requires a different approach to the calculation of neutron distributions. A method of associated invariant subspaces is proposed for calculating the neutron distribution in weakly coupled systems. This method is based on the method of dichotomies of a matrix spectrum developed at the Sobolev Institute of Mathematics at the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. |
