Summary:A novel reducing system, In(OTf)3/PhSiH3, was developed, which smoothly and effectively hydrogenates a variety of azobenzenes to hydrazobenzenes. Azobenzenes with diverse functional groups were reduced to their corresponding hydrazobenzenes in high yields. The catalytic method utilized is simple and operates under exceedingly mild conditions. A novel reducing system of In(OTf)3 and PhSiH3 was developed, which smoothly and effectively hydrogenated a variety of azobenzenes to hydrazobenzenes. Numerous azobenzenes were easily converted in excellent yields to their corresponding hydrazobenzenes. The presented catalytic method is simple and operates under exceedingly mild conditions.
