Self-Absorption Effect in Polymer Films Doped with Difluoroboron β-Diketonates

The spectral properties of difluoroboron β‑diketonates in a polystyrene matrix have been studied. Description
Summary:The spectral properties of difluoroboron β‑diketonates in a polystyrene matrix have been studied. A bathochromic shift of the fluorescence bands of dyes in the steady-state luminescence spectra during the transition from solutions to polymer films was revealed, which is associated with the self-absorption of dyes. It is shown that the use of a mask for excitation of a small section of the film is a simple and convenient method for preventing the effect of dye self-absorption in the film on the structure of the fluorescence spectrum.
