Summary:The eye tracking technique is increasingly used in the context of examining the method of processing visual information from instruments and displays located in the cockpit of an airplane. An important aspect is monitoring the pilot’s visual behavior in the most difficult phase of the flight, which is the landing of the plane. Six people participated in the research, divided into three groups according to their experience. The subjects performed three landing approaches in various weather conditions. During the study, the visual behavior of the participants was recorded using the Pupil Invisible eye tracker. Based on the analysis of heatmaps and areas of interest, differences in the distribution and number of fixations in the visual field between pilots with different aviation experience were shown.
