description | Architecture in the age of disruptive technologies: transformation and challenges Over the past 16 years, the Arab Society for Computer Aided Architectural Design (ASCAAD) has consolidated scientific research in computer-related fields, including a series of scientific conferences that addressed the following topics: eDesign in architecture. Generative and parametric design, New modes of Computer-Aided Architectural Design (CAAD) learning, Design education, Design of/for A massive open online course (MOOCs) and Interactive media and visualization. Table 1 shows the topics raised for research during the ASCAAD 2021 conference, and the number of papers that dealt with these research trends, noting that many of these papers dealt with more than one topic and linked several directions; thus, this statistic does not express the total number of accepted papers in the conference, but rather sheds light on the interest of young researchers studying the phenomenon of digital architecture in and around the Middle East. The study proposes a virtual reality platform that provides experiential learning in a risk-free environment in situations that students cannot perform during construction site visits for an incidental reason. |
