Description
Summary:— A geosystem typology of the soil cover of the Berezinsky Biospheric Reserve has been developed, and a quantitative assessment of the degree of contrast, complexity, and heterogeneity of soil combinations has been performed. The spatial differentiation of the calculated and aggregated values of the coefficient of heterogeneity of the soil cover is given. The typological characteristics of the environmental conditions of the reserve are analyzed for the particular geosystems: fragmentary, convex and flat watersheds; valley-like and lake-like depressions; and different parts of floodplains. Heterogeneity and local development of transitional zones, moderate heterogeneity of backswamps, and a predominance of convex watersheds and relatively deep depressions are noted. In the geoinformation database, geostatistical processing of cartometric indicators of the soil cover patterns and ten indicators of soil and vegetation diversity has been performed in compliance with topological rules, as well as the calculation of pair correlation in assessing the pedo- and biodiversity of the reserve territory. It is shown that the most statistically justified indices are the Shannon, normalized Shannon, Gini–Simpson, and lateral differentiation indices. The presented calculations of their values for the identified geosystems confirm the reliability of the correlation of pedo- and biodiversity. A regression analysis of the most correlated indices with the calculation of functional dependencies has been performed. The spatial distribution of the results of the assessment of pedo- and biodiversity is given with due account for the coefficients of determination between them, which can serve as the basis for functional zoning and territorial planning of the permissible anthropogenic load in the management of specially protected natural territories.
