Summary: | The realization of naked eye light field display is a century‐long dream of human being. It is also a hot spot for scientific and technological development today. Among the various technical routes for realizing light field display, the route based on beam control has more potential of mass production than volumetric three‐dimensional methods and holographic methods. The key link of this route is to produce directional pixels or tensor pixels. We have proposed a method to realize light field display by using Micro‐LED to create directional and tensor pixels, and have developed a proprietary driver IC which can be driven by Dynamic Allocation Sparse(DAS) method. With the support of motion scanning technology and eye tracking technology, our naked eye light field display system based on this driver IC can make full use of the characteristics of Micro‐LED's high response speed and high brightness. This method can greatly reduces the amount of physical pixel resources and driving resources required by the light field display. At the same time, it effectively solves the problems encountered when Micro‐LED is used for display, such as huge transfer difficulty, low product yield, poor consistency, color offset and so on. As the luminous efficiency of Micro‐LED increases and the size is further reduced, this method will make it possible for light field displays to enter millions of households. |
