Description
Summary:Doping process is one of the important approaches of tuning the optical parameters of composite systems for desired applications of optoelectronic devices. In this work, natural betalain dye was extracted from beetroot and blended with a high band gap donor polymer, named poly(triamterene-co-terephthalate), with the aim of revealing the impact of donor-π-acceptor unit on the optoelectronic parameters. Solution processed technique with the help of spectrophotometer were used to implement the methodology followed by the use of some theoretical equations to deduce the parameters. Results showed a non-monotonic change in the refractive index (n), dielectric constant (ε), and optical conductivity (σ) with the increase of betalain dye, while the optical energy gap was consistently decreased. Concludingly, the donor-π-acceptor unit of betalain made an essential change in the optoelectronic parameters of poly(triamterene-co-terephthalate).
