Description
Summary:The effect caused by radiation on human body tissue is proportional to the amount of radiation exposure received by the tissue. In other words, all radiation doses, no matter how big or small, can affect the human body’s tissues. This study aimed to determine the radiation distribution pattern in the irradiator Cs-137 room and surrounding rooms and determine working areas classified into controlled areas or supervised areas. This research was co using survey meter and Cs-137 radiation source with the energy of 0,6 MeV. The measurement point is determined 71 points spread over four rooms with a distance between the point of 80 cm, and survey meters are set to align with the height of the irradiator, which is 120 cm. Furthermore, the length of exposure time is also set for 5 minutes and repeated three times. The measurement result is the dose rate in µSv/h, which is then processed to obtain the radiation distribution pattern. In this research, it was obtained that the resulting radiation distribution pattern can show the points that have the largest to the smallest dose rate value through color gradation and can be known and determined the division of work areas in each room where the irradiator room controls are, and operator’s room, KAUR room, and corridor is a supervision area.
