Description
Summary:The results of studying and improving GET 33-85 Special state primary Brinell hardness standard are presented. This standard was improved at the Russian Metrological Institute of Technical Physics and Radio Engineering (VNIIFTRI) in 2018–2020 to ensure the uniformity of Brinell hardness measurements. During the upgrade, the realization range of Brinell hardness numbers was extended and the number of scales realized by the standard was increased. New standard systems were designed and produced to ensure the realization of Brinell hardness numbers in accordance with current international requirements. As a result, GET 33-2020 State primary Brinell hardness standard was approved. The metrological characteristics of GET 33-2020 were studied, with an estimation of the uncertainty budget in the realization of Brinell hardness numbers. Measuring instruments traceable to GET 33-2020 are used in metallurgy, as well as power, aerospace, and machine tool industries.
