Description
Summary:The article presents novel foldable mechanisms designed by integrating spatial kinematic chains on a planar four-bar linkage. At the same time, the integrated chains do not add imposed constraints; therefore, the synthesized mechanisms have one degree of freedom. Two-bar chains are accepted as the integrated chains, in which the central joint is a two-degree of freedom pin spherical joint or toroidal joint, and the outermost joints are either cylindrical or spherical and rotational joints. The article presents a solution to the kinematics problem of a foldable mechanism, in which the integrated chains are formed by spherical, pin spherical and rotational joints.
