Summary: | The paper deal with best twist angle and optimum HAWT blades chord to determine the best performance using different HAWT blades cross-section. BEM theory, L/D max theory and algorithm theory used to analysis performance equation. Self f.90 program and CFD code as used to calculate the results. Three different cross section was used unsymmetrical airfoil (NACA 4412), symmetrical airfoil (NACA 0012) and supercritical airfoil (Eppler -417). Scientific thought of using different cross-section was to change the force distribution on blade to performance best L/D max. Optimization result figure 16 % increase in cp coefficient for NACA 0012 cross-section and 10.3 % for Eppler 417 and 9.5 % for NACA 4412 cross-section. All the result was plotted and tabulated for all optimization results. |
