Description
Summary:Predictive type control systems are promising, as they can significantly reduce the cost of setting up converters. However, this still leaves the problem of controlling DC-DC converters unsolved. This paper presents a modified model of a predictive control system (MPCS) for DC-DC boost converters. For its implementation, a nonlinear model of the converter with discrete time switching, describing the continuous mode of operation, is proposed. The controller is synthesized by formulating the target function, which should be minimized taking into account the dynamic model of the converter. The proposed modified MPCS, used as a voltage control system, allows us to keep the output voltage at the reference level. The optimized method for calculating the target function makes it possible to significantly reduce the required computing power and expand the forecasting horizon. The presented simulation results show the advantages of the modified MPCS: a fast transient response and robustness.
