Summary: | Waste is defined as something useless, an object or substance that is no longer needed. The 3Rs concept (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) is promoted on a worldwide scale for generating a sustainable material-cycle society through efficient application of resources and materials. Our paper discusses the application of the 3Rs concept in the field of textiles and clothing. A case study on the production of a cave suit from already used textiles with different applications is shown. The designed cave suit has been experimentally tested during a cave expedition and has shown very good functionality. |
