A Study of the Possibility of Carrying out Chemical Reactions during the Synthesis of Azelaic Acid Di(2-ethylhexyl) Ester Based on Rapeseed Oil under Supercritical Conditions

The chemical stages of the process of preparation of azelaic acid di(2-ethylhexyl) ester from rapeseed oil are studied—the reactions of hydrolysis of the initial oil, oxidation of oleic acid in the presence of a Pd-containing heterogeneous catalyst, and esterification of azelaic acid. The processes...

Description
Summary:The chemical stages of the process of preparation of azelaic acid di(2-ethylhexyl) ester from rapeseed oil are studied—the reactions of hydrolysis of the initial oil, oxidation of oleic acid in the presence of a Pd-containing heterogeneous catalyst, and esterification of azelaic acid. The processes of hydrolysis and esterification are carried out under supercritical (SC) conditions (523–653 K, 22.5–30 MPa).
