Description
Summary:The landslide at Mount Pawinihan Banjarnegara, Central Java, Indonesia is classified as a large-scale landslide and caused more than 80 deaths. This landslide is a type of debris slide which is converted into debris flow. This study examines how the distribution of clay minerals in the weathering zone in the breccia lithology which is the constituent rock at the landslide location. Observations were made at each different weathering zone, then took soil samples for analysis of clay minerals in different zones. The method used in the analysis of clay mineral types is X-Ray Defraction analysis. The results obtained are kaolinite, haloisite, maghemite, cristobalite and montmorillonite clay minerals on the slip surface in weathering zone IV.
