Description
Summary:Data on 13 zoogeographically significant species of weevils (Curculionoidea) discovered in 2022 in the south of the Volga Upland are reported. In particular, 11 species are recorded for the first time for the fauna of Saratov Province: Melanobaris semistriata , M. atramentaria , Aulacobaris angusta , Ceutorhynchus talickyi , C. inaffectatus , C. griseus , Oxyonyx brisouti , Pseudorchestes exiguus , Otiorhynchus asphaltinus , O. concinnus , and Phacephorus nebulosus . Two of them, the semi-desert species Oxyonyx brisouti and Ps. exiguus , were discovered in the steppe zone of European Russia for the first time. Glocianus herbsti , previously known from the very south of the Saratov Trans-Volga Region, was discovered on the Volga Upland. The presence of Mecorhis ungarica is confirmed for the Volga Region, where the species was previously known from a single find. New data on host plants are provided for a number of species.
