Summary:Population increase is one of the major problems faced by this generation which in turn increases the number of vehicles. One of the major causes for increase in parking issues could be attributed to the increase in population and lack of proper parking management systems. To alleviate the parking problems, the smart parking system has been developed, and parking planning is an important part of it. An effective parking planning strategy makes a better use of the available/existing parking resources. On that account parking analysis study has been undertaken to provide baseline evidence to have an understanding of the local distinctiveness and the characteristic features of Perundurai City – Market place. Here is an attempt to study the various methods used for designing a parking space. The pros and cons of the technology used in the planning of parking and strategies undertaken has been discussed. An initiative was taken to design a parking place at Perundurai city, Erode. Consequently, two designes were designed and the features around the market place was studied using autocad, google maps and site survey. The future ideas that can be combined with the presented designs are mentioned for future advancements. The practical issues that were faced in real time will be worked out and a new strategy had been planned for meeting the demands of parking.
