Analysis of the 12C(3He, d)13N Proton Stripping Reaction to the Resonant State

Within the framework of the generalized peripheral model (GPM), the process of proton stripping in the 12 C( 3 He, d ) 13 N reaction to the first excited resonance state ( E * = 2.365 MeV and J π = 1/2 + ) of the 13 N nucleus at energies E 3 He = 16, 17, 18, 34, and 81.4 MeV is considered. Its proto...

Description
Summary:Within the framework of the generalized peripheral model (GPM), the process of proton stripping in the 12 C( 3 He, d ) 13 N reaction to the first excited resonance state ( E * = 2.365 MeV and J π = 1/2 + ) of the 13 N nucleus at energies E 3 He = 16, 17, 18, 34, and 81.4 MeV is considered. Its proton width Г p has been determined. It is shown that taking into account three-body Coulomb effects in the proton transfer reaction significantly changes the absolute value of the calculated differential cross section, which leads to a decrease in the extracted Г p value. The obtained value of proton width Г p = 30.1 ± 0.8 keV for the 13 N nucleus ( E * = 2.365 MeV) is in good agreement with the experimental value of 31.7 ± 0.8 keV.
