Magnetostriction in Ferrite Garnet Y1.8Bi1.2Fe3.5Ga1.5O12 Synthesized via the Modified Combustion of Gel in Ethylene Glycol

A study is performed of the temperature dependence of the constant of magnetostriction of yttrium–bismuth ferrite garnet with Ga 3+ substituted for Fe 3+ ions. An improved technology for the synthesis of bulk samples is presented, along with results from an X-ray diffraction analysis and a study of...

Description
Summary:A study is performed of the temperature dependence of the constant of magnetostriction of yttrium–bismuth ferrite garnet with Ga 3+ substituted for Fe 3+ ions. An improved technology for the synthesis of bulk samples is presented, along with results from an X-ray diffraction analysis and a study of a microstructure. A change is observed in the sign of the constant of magnetostriction as a function of temperature caused by the spin–orientation transition.
