Summary: | The crushability of thin-walled Foam filled circular tubes made of aluminum under axial impact loads was analyzed in this study. This type of round tube is usually used in train structures to absorb impact forces. To model and analyze crashworthiness properties, the finite element method (MEH) is used. Software applied to the finite element method. The crashworthiness parameters evaluated were energy absorption, specific energy absorption and crushing efficiency. This numerical result evaluates a thin-walled tube made of aluminum alloy (AA6060-T4) with variations of the independent variables, namely variations in tube wall thickness, tube wall diameter and impact velocity. |
