Summary: | This research was aimed to describe the development phases of a simple distillation kit for green chemistry oriented organic fluid waste recycling, to analyze the results of validity and feasibility tests towards the kit and to analyze the optimization result of the distillation kit and the distillate purity test using refractometer. The used method consisted of analyzing problems in the field, planning product design dan user guide, preparing the materials and apparatus, and conducting the development phases, starting from the expert lecturers’ validation towards the product to the limited product testing. The research was well conducted, producing a valid, feasible kit which is made from safe materials, easy to use, cheap to build and provides interesting features. The instruments used in this research were flowchart, storyboard, product validation and feasibility sheets. The purity of distillates generated from the separation of liquid waste which contained organic solvents such as methanol, water and ethyl acetate were 1,3400 and 1,3800; 1,3350; 1,3415 with each relative error percentage of 0.84 and 0.74, 0.37; 2.22. Those percentages were smaller than the maximum threshold (5%) for the purity of compound. |
