Summary: | A physically and geometrically nonlinear statement of the consolidation problem was elaborated in terms of the rate of solid phase displacement and the rate of pore pressure change in both differential and variation forms. The finite element method was used for the numerical implementation of the variational equations. The developed nonlinear coupled consolidation model was applied to simulate hyperelastic deformation of water-saturated rubber and biological material saturated with blood or plasma as well as elastoplastic deformation of water-saturated soil. The calculations were carried out in our own program code. The influence of porosity and permeability variations during the deformation process on pore pressure was investigated. |
