description The development of nations is mostly dependent on the urbanization of the country. In upcoming years India aims to become more and more urbanized as it plays a commanding role in the economic growth of the country. As a part of urbanization, the demand for automobiles is increasing rapidly and accordingly good road conditions become a prime need to be developed meticulously. India is paying more attention to such reforms. India haslarge road networks in rural and urban areasincluding state and national highways. They serve as the arterial network across the country. However, owing to these developments the accidental rate and fatal rate of India is remarkably high. With a huge network of roads and a higher population ratio, the frequency of accidents compared to other countries is a major problem in India. The road accidents statistics showings some serious figures and it’sa very challenging task to avoid these accidents. Although there are extensive efforts by the researchers like automatic emergency braking system. It has reduced road accidents considerably in China1. Some manufacturers are using the antilock braking system. It’s proving helpful for drivers. In India, the growth in the population is significantly noted, which will lead to one of the measure causes of pedestrian accidents. So this paper mainly focuses on the need for an innovative braking system to avoid and reduce accidents to some extent referring to road statistics and population growth, urbanization, and reasons for accidents in the Indian scenario. The integration of ABS with emergency brake assistance could be more suitable and helpful for Indian road conditions.
