Summary: | The synthesis of secondary hexyl-o-xylene was carried out; a zeolite of the ZSM-5 brand was used as a catalyst. The influence of various factors (amount of catalyst, temperature, reaction time) on the process optimal parameters was studied, and the process optimal conditions were determined. As a result of the studies carried out, the highest yield of the target product was found to be 98.2%. The developed method for the synthesis of hexyl o-xylene can be proposed as an alternative method instead of an environmentally unsafe method of production in the presence of aluminum chloride when obtaining an ester as a dielectric liquid. |
