Summary: | Researcher develop manipulative things to make student understand the concept easily. This study aims to explain the development of manipulative things to help students understand the concept easily in mathematics learning, especially geometry. This study refers to Borg and Gall model that used eight steps: 1) observation and collecting data, 2) planning, 3) material development, 4) validation, 5) testing, 6) product revision, 7) field testing, 8) product revision. This study result showed that Zoltan Dienes’s theory increases process students thinking in mathematics learning. The product significantly boosted students’ concepts and had been declared valid by material experts, design experts, and practitioners. Student’s responses show favorably to manipulative things from three aspects are easy, conspicuousness, and usefulness. All students declare that manipulative thing is beneficial for learning. |
