Description
Summary:The importance of continuous monitoring of the water quality in rivers, especially Industrial areas has been made well-aware to Malaysians due to the frequently re-occurring cases over the past decade. These existing manual and continuous methods to monitor water quality in rivers in certain areas are done within an interval of time, labor-intensive, and cost heavy. Within this interval, any changes in the water quality are addressed too late and pollution would have already run its effect. In this paper, we demonstrate a real-time wireless water quality monitoring system that is aimed to detect the real-time water quality of its environment. Following the standards set by the Department of Environment (DOE) for water quality in rivers, it will detect the real-time water pH, temperature, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and turbidity of river water, store this data in an Arduino Uno R3 microcontroller and transfer the data wirelessly to a local host via Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM). This data will then be analyzed and sent to alert authorities for further investigation and local communities via Telegram Channels.
