Description
Summary:Bi-doped CaCu 3 Ti 4 O 12 (CCTO-Bi) was synthesized by the modified technique of sol–gel. The study of structure, morphology and optical behavior of the prepared material was investigated. As results, the prepared material was found to be crystalline in nature. Moreover, the crystallite size and internal strain were analyzed by the Williamson–Hall method. The SEM morphology reveals the formation of rod and fibrous like structure. The bandgap of the materials was found to be 3.26 eV which is 0.05 eV less than the undoped CCTO. This study also includes the study of different parameters like refractive index, absorption index, dielectric constant, transition strength and energy loss functions. The decrease in refractive index of 0.2 and increase in extinction coefficient of 1.11 value can be noticed in case of doped material. For the CCTO-Bi, SELF and VELF are also decreased from 7.6 × 10 −5 to 1.73 × 10 −4 and from 7.8 × 10 −5 to 1.8 × 10 −4 , respectively, while the optical conductivity is higher in the visible region.
