Summary: | Recently thin films of biocompatible gold nanoparticles have gained enormous interest as it finds potential applications such as in Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) based sensors. Here we report the formation of gold nanoparticles (AuNP) on various conventional substrates (glass, mica, silicon) as well as bio-templates (such as phospholipid: DPPC and proteins: Pepsin and BSA) deposited by Langmuir Blodgett technique. Keeping all the deposition parameters of sputtering (such as deposition time, deposition rate, temperature etc.) constant, we have studied the dependence of nanoparticle organization on different templates. The study shows the formation of the thin film of monodisperse gold nanoparticles having different sizes and shapes depending upon the nature of the template. This easy and fast method of preparing AuNP film may provide a platform for designing a biocompatible AuNP substrate for biomedical and sensing applications. |
