Description
Summary:The main approach of the paper is determined by the multi-scale origin of the plastic localization deformation. Using the technique of digital speckle photography, the regular features of plastic deformation macrolocalization were established for the tensile single γ-Fe crystals. The distribution of local elongations over the sample extension axis was obtained for the deforming sample. It has been found that the interstitial impurity content of nitrogen and carbon being diffusion mobile at room temperatures can dramatically affect the process of the strain localization in the FCC alloys. Modern approaches to the self-organizing crystal defect structures is proposed with special emphasis on the role of the localized plastic deformation in single crystals of austenitic stainless steels.
