SISENSI: online academic attendance using Android based QR-Code

Attendance is the action or state of going regularly to or being present at a place or event. In particular, attendance means a student who comes to class to take a learning process. It can give information of students’ discipline in takin a learning process. This study aims to develop a QR Code-based academic attendance application used by the students of the Informatics Engineering Education Department. It employed the Research and Development (R&D) method by using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) model. Application development employed Kodular and Moodle. The application contains a QR Code scan menu and other supporting menus in the form of virtual tours, news, timetable, and star UMS. In the process of this application development, the tests of functionality with the black box, usability with the system usability scale (SUS) instrument, reliability, and application compatibility with the firebase test lab were employed. Based on the validation results of three experts by the lecturers of the Informatics Engineering Education Department and trials to the users of thirty-five students of the department, it can be concluded that the application is suitable for use by the students of the Informatics Engineering Education Department.
