Description
Summary:The main objective of this work was to study the type of inheritance in the F1 generation of the most important breeding traits that determine the quality of sunflower seeds for the confectionery industry. The results obtained in this research are valuable for practical application, since it is the yield of hybrid plants that is used in the confectionery industry. We found that the studied lines and hybrids had a large variability in the main valuable breeding and morphometric traits. The types of inheritance for all traits in F1 for hybrids between large-seeded or with one large-seeded parent and oil hybrids differed significantly. The inheritance of thousand-seed weight was characterized by over-dominance, seed huskness was inherited predominantly by an intermediate type and incomplete dominance of the coarse huskness form, and oil content was predominantly inherited by incomplete dominance of the parent with higher oil content. Inheritance of seed length in F1 was described by the incomplete dominance or over-dominance of the more elongated parent form.
