A New Phenylalkanoid of Zingiber officinale

A new phenylalkanoid, 1-(4′-hydroxy-3′-methoxyphenyl)-5-methoxydecan-3-one ( 1 ) was isolated from the rhizomes of Chinese ginger ( Zingiber officinale Roscoe (Zingiberaceae)). The structure of this new phenylalkanoid was elucidated by chemical and physical evidence.
