Description
Summary:In determining the reasons for the quality loss of coal concentrates, the influence of the ferric oxide content on the heavy to medium enrichment of coal in hydrocyclones is studied. Excessive content of ferric oxide increases the basicity index I ba of the ash and impairs the quality of the industrial concentrates. This excess of ferric oxide may be attributed to regulation of the enrichment in hydrocyclones with a magnetite suspension, which is a mechanical mixture of water and magnetite concentrate (which, in turn, is a mixture of ferrous and ferric oxides, FeO·Fe 2 O 3 ).
